Board-Certified Music Therapist
Katherine grew up in Clarkesville, GA, a rural city in the northeast Georgia mountains. She attended the University of Georgia where she received her Bachelor’s degree in Music Therapy. Katherine then completed her internship at The Music Therapy Center of California in San Diego. Here, she gained experience working with clients of all ages including children, adolescents, adults and seniors with various Neurologic conditions and diagnoses. After completion of her internship, Katherine transplanted back to the southeast to serve patients and families at Interim Healthcare of the Upstate in South Carolina. During this time, Katherine had the honor of working with patients and families in hospice care as a music therapist and bereavement coordinator, walking alongside them on their unique end-of-life journeys. She values the intentionality of music experiences to enhance connections and encourage individual growth and expression. Katherine is excited to be back in Georgia as a member of the Metro Music Therapy team and looks forward to working with her clients and their families.
